On the eastern bank of the Passaic River, overlooking the so-called "White Bridge". This iron truss bridge of unknown date gave its name to White Bridge Road, and a 19th century settlement focused on this house.

SIGNIFICANCE & HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The traditional building form and its location on the banks of the Passaic River, suggest that the core of this frame house might be quite early. The County Atlases of l868 and l887 indicate that this was the residence of E. Mills. The house looks at "White Bridge", a 19th century place name connected to the bridge over the Passaic River at this location. The present bridge is still white, but it is a modern, steel truss affair.
