ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: Combination of Italianate and
Gothic detailing, extended eaves with brackets
beneath, pointed arch gable windows, bargeboard.
Early 20th century alterations include rounded
pediment over main entry and diamond-pane upper
sash on first floor.
House faces south with view of Watchung hills on corner lot. A shiplap sided 20th century garage stands at rear. All original outbuildings removed.
SIGNIFICANCE & HISTORICAL INFORMATION The house and its lot are the only remains of a large farm purchased by John Williams in the late 18th century. John's son, Elias, born in 1807, lived on the farm all his life, and presumably it was he who had this house constructed.
