SIGNIFICANCE & HISTORICAL INFORMATION The 1887 Atlas of Morris County indicates a building on this site, owned by H.G. Torrey. This farmhouse may have been constructed as a tenant house for the neighboring estate (survey #1430-72). The simple detailing indicates the general conservative nature of the local builders, and the persistence of traditional building types well into the 19th century.
