SIGNIFICANCE & HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Frederick Taff donated land for an Episcopal Churhc in 1904, twenty years after the local congregation had first formed by meeting in homes and the Millington schoolhouses. The church was built in 1905-06 and named All Saints' Mission. A permanent vicar was not appointed until 1941; in 1949, the congregation became an independent parish.

The wealth and aspirations of the congregation, originally, composed largely of New Yorkers who had estates on Long Hill, is evident in the architecture of the church.

COMMENTS:

A well-detailed building with its historic architectural fabric intact. All Saint's Episcopal Church Rectory stands northwest of the church building and was constructed a generation after the main building, although its European-eclectic architecture harmonizes well with the church.
