ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: Traditional house form with
Greek Revival-style detailing. Facade porch on pier
supports; front door enframement set with pilasters
and sidelights. Shed dormer on facade. Applied
corner pilasters. House is banked into
hillside.
Frame barn partially altered for use as a garage. Ramshackle frame outbuildings. SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT
SIGNIFICANCE & HISTORICAL INFORMATION This farmhouse combines the traditional building form of the 18th and early 19th centuries, known as the East Jersey cottage, with numerous details of the Greek Revival style. This was the property of A. Dunn in 1868, and of M. Peck in 1887, according to atlases of Morris County for those years.
