ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: Eyebrow windows and three
pedimented dormers on facade, paneled front door
with side lights and transom.
House faces south (toward Passaic River). Gable end is on a rise at a shoulder in the road. Back of property faces west exposure of Valley Mall. North end of property is bounded by entrance to Valley Mall. SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT
SIGNIFICANCE & HISTORICAL INFORMATION The house is identified on the 1868 Atlas of Morris County as the property of J. S. Runyon. The building is a classic example of the local vernacular building tradition of the 18th century.
