SIGNIFICANCE & HISTORICAL INFORMATION The house is identified on the 1868 Atlas of Morris County as the property of S. Doty. In 1878, it was owned by J. Sharp, according to Robinson's Atlas of that year. The building demonstrates an unusual method of updating a simple vernacular farmhouse to conform to early 20th century taste. The double two-story bay windows give visual height to the original low lines of the house.
