ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: Early house extensively
modified with bungalow era additions including
enclosed front porch, grouped windows, and
shed-roofed addition to rear.
The house faces south on a low hill. Low shed and three-car garage, foundations of barn and other out buildings visible. SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT
Across Mountain Avenue is a new subdivision.
James Cauldwell emigrated from Ireland and settled on lot #30 of the Elizabethtown lots. His property included this farmsite. Cauldwell began the house, which was later owned by the parrot family. In 1856 the farm was sold to Robert Cornish of New York. Members of the Cornish family still reside here.
