The property was sold to the Great Swamp Wildlife Refuge. After which the house was boarded-up and the barn torn down. SIGNIFICANCE & HISTORICAL INFORMATION The property was developed by M. Meeker between 1868 and 1887. Both the house and the barn indicate the persistence of traditional building forms in rural areas even after other styles and technologies had become widely known.
