gambrel-roofed section with extensive late
Victorian additions.
The frame barn to the east altered for use as garage. Frame contemporary builder's house, 1 1/2 story, shingle siding also on property.
Adjacent to the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. White Bridge Road now ends at this house, preventing vehicle access through the swamp at this location.
The Kutcher family had a house on this site in the 19th century according to maps of the area. It seems likely that a vernacular Federal style house (of which, locally, the gambrel roof is a hallmark) was the original, extensively remodeled in the late 19th century with Queen Anne style details. A fire in the house in 1948 caused a great deal of the interior to be rebuilt. The US Fish & Wildlife Service has taken ownership of the site and as of 2002 intends to demolish the building since they have no use for it.
